I got the blown bag out, and the new one in. (without taking the dash out!)
took some thinking. Anyway the metal bracket behind the airbag, holding the metal airbag shell, was tweaked some. still perfectly square, just crooked, slightly lower on the left side.
The bolts holding the airbag shell to the large bracket, ( 3 on top 3on bottom)
i got the bottom row bolted up, top row is jusssst a touch out of line,odd angle and limited space to get bolts in anyway...

bottom line I plan on drilling new holes, and adding a thread for the screws. basically the same place as factory, just about an inch two the right.
will it work?

Will that get the job done safely in case of deployment?

doubt you will get a response. i dont think anyone wants to take a chance on the airbag not working correctly because of advise you recieved from them. i stay away from airbag stuff so i have no idea.
