Default Air tubes

I am curious to know what happens if I remove the air tubes from the headers? I can't stand them, they just seem to get in the way. I have seen block-off kits for sale so I figure that it can't be harmful, in fact I would like to know if it will actually free up any power? With the engine compartment already being tight I would really like to free up some room. I have found myself with alittle extra time on my hands lately so I would like to get some real work done on my camaro.

The next time that you go in and get your car inspected for emissions you fail the visual test and you haven't gained any power because the A.I.R is only active at startup.

Not all states have a visual inspection. I have zero emissions stuff on my car and I just passed emissions yesterday (Illinois) and I have a big *** cam in the car too. If you remove the A.I.R system it will set off a code and the CEL light will be on untill you get a tuner to shut off the code. If you are doing other mods and getting a tune soon do it then, but doing it on it's own is not worth it.

Good question! I've thought the same thing because they don't seem like that are doing anything but getting in the way. I live in Arizona and our laws for emissions are kind of strict so I guess I'm screwed.

BS man, you live in Denver, unless your car is registered in summit county or out in far east or north Colorado you're required to get a visual inspection. Either that or you have some friends that pass it for you...that you need to introduce to me...
