Hi, I own a 1994 Camaro , v-6, base

I had my Air Intake Tube Replaced in february 2023, now a problem for Calif smog.?

Any Smog state Camaro owners here to help me?

My factory cold air intake tube from 1993 was tattered with holes in Jan 2023

I looked everywhere on the web to find a replacement. on line and at junk y ards in my area

After a tedious serarch
I got an aftermarket one on Ebay, if I could get the same as the factory I would

the car runs real good

I by the way, threw away the hole-ridden factory intake tube in the trash

My smog is coming up in October of 2023

*One of my options, I guess is to go on a wild goose chase at a Junkyard, which I did at the time my cold air intake tube made of Rubber (the current aftermarket one is made of hard plastic and looks like a spaghetti elbow red in color)

and have it replaced before my October 2023 registration / need for smog

Ive had this car since 2014 and Ive never had a problem passing smog

the ideal thing would have been to go on a wild goose chase
that produced a result

a vaccuum intake tube shaped like a spaghetti elbow made of rubber / plastic with no holes or tears in it, *just like the original factory part

it took way too long at at least 10 junkyard places

the older a 1993 camaro becomes, the harder to find parts

let's just say, it runs, any smog state people, ldk if WA state is a smog test state, any body would want to buy a car that runs...yet can't pass smog?

i'd have to sell it outside of california right? to a state resident that doesn't need smog?

 

my other option is to put an Ad somewhere across all 50 states for the original air intake tube made of rubber and is black

then pay my mechanic to put it back on

i was able to get around smog let's say for a bit, but now it's let's just say the future isn't too bright for my next Reg
