Air Conditioning Problem - AC blowing hot - 1998 Z28
I ran into a problem today with the AC in my 1998 Z28. After walking around a swap meet all day, we were anxious for the nice cold AC to be blowing. Instead, we had hot air. It was cold this morning on the way down so we had the defroster on and the air a bit warm, so when I started up this afternoon, I had to switch back to the AC and turn the heat control back to cold. But it didn't blow cold.
It acts like it is still blowing hot from the heater side.It isn't as hot as full hot, because I can adjust to getfull heat. However, it is much warmer than outside air.
The AC was cold on Friday, and I doubt it just decided to quit today. However, we did make a short run around 135 on the way down there, in case that is a known issue.
Otherwise, I know that some C5 Corvettes have issues with the electronic climate control blowing hot when it should be cold, so I thought I'd ask in case that is an issue with the Camaros, too.
Also, I couldn't find anything in the search here, but maybe it is just not showing up.
Thanks,
Doc

The PCM will cycle the A/C compressor off at high RPMs, so I doubt you're high speed run did it. The problem to me sounds like either low refrigerant, or bad pressure switch. The pressure switch doesn't let the compressor cycle on if low refrigerant pressure is detected. When this switch fails, it won't let compressor come on.

my air blows, but it isnt cold, been like this since i got the car, for me, the AC compressor was burned up, so turn your AC on full blast for a couple minutes(on cold)
and if you smell a burning smell under the hood while the air is trying to work, its probably your compressor being burned up
