even if he damaged a valve, that still wont cause a spun bearing.

 

well yea, i know that, but i was just thinking maybe it was/is the sound of a bad valve. i was told that's what was wrong with mine, was i had a bad valve. and it made pretty much the same noise as that, just a little higher pitch. like more of a click than a clunk. and it was a dominant sound, i could hear it in car big time, with stereo on windows up and everything. but it never hurt the performance of the car from what i could tell.

 

I wonder if the guys at the muffler shop took it for a hell ride to "break in" the mufflers

 

guy did that to my friend's Rabbit. took off lift, peeled out going out of parking lot and didnt come back for 15min.

 

well so since ill need a rebuild.. and icant do it myself (no time nor experience) how much do you think it will cost about for atleast the parts?

 

alot. lol. you have a Z right? if you're gonna get it rebuilt, IMO, i would buy like a stroker kit or forged internals to do to it now too. or atleast a Cam.

i figure ill get a 383 i mean otherwise it be pointless and a waste of $$...

 

stroker would be bad ***, wonder how much they run, no it's around 2500 for the 3.8. i'd assume less for the LT1 though.
