Default AC help

Has anyone upgraded the AC blower motor to something stronger? If so, what did you use? How much modification did you have to do? My AC blows cold but it doesn't seem like it's up to par when I have it cranked. And FYI, the blower motor that's in my car is a year old factory replacement. And the compressor is brand new.

Did the ducting get cleaned out when the new blower motor went in?

What do you mean by stronger? My blower does not blow hard but when my AC is on it feels like an icebox in my car. How did you get your AC comp replaced?

Not sure... Is there a way I can check that? Take it apart?

remove the vent covers and check inside the vents and/or remove the blower motor and check inside there.

I'm looking to make the air flow alot stronger. Like you would feel in a new Silverado. My dad has one and the AC in mine blow decently cold but I cant even feel it because the blower motor doesn't blow strong

I took it to a shop and had it done. They replaced the compressor and the blower motor at the same time.

My Avalanche blower was alot stronger than the one in my Camaro. I dont know how to make that any faster other than changing the motor to one that has a higher RPM. The drawback to that is the blower resistor may not be able to handle the extra current from the faster motor. With electric motors there is a balance when it comes to the speed of the motor. The faster it spins the less resistance the windings have and there fore the more current it draws, the more current the motor draws the more heat the resistor builds up from the extra current flow.

My Avalanche didnt have a resistor for the blower, it used a transistor switching circuit to pulse the motor on and off at a different frequency for different speeds. This system does not use resistors and can use higher current motors, that may be why your Dad's truck has a stronger push on its blower.

Drive faster with the windows down?

No not really I have never heard any one complain about the fan not blowing enough. Do you have all 4 speeds? if you dont you may have blown the resistor. It is not likely but possible.
