Default 98 Z28 troubles..?

I'm having alot of trouble with a 98 z28 i purchased wrecked from a salvage yard, the steering keeps making a clunking every time i turn the wheel while its parked or barely moving?? when i'm driving its usually quiet.. Any hints as to whats making that clunking?? steering rack going bad?? Also the AIR system constantly turns on and off while i'm driving around randomly. car does good else wise.

air must mean the air conditioning pump. if the pump is ingageing alot it could need to be recharged or could also be the relay. steering noise sounds like the ball joints or control arm bushings but could be tierod ends or like u said the rack is lose. u need to have someone turn the steering while u are down lookin and listening to see if u can get a general location or even better the part.
