98 camaro v6 oil leak

Default 98 camaro v6 oil leak

I just noticed my oil was leaking from my oil pump where it attach to the frame I think after I drove in a big hole in the street don't think it's my oil pump it is leaking like a small stream from the faucet http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i...ps70b079a1.jpg

could it be coming from the oil pressure switch, should in that area. I'm surprised one of the guys hasn't responded yet

THe area you show in your pic is not the oil pump. That is the oil filter adaptor, and right above that is the oil pressure switch. If you hit a hole in the road that was deep enough to hit either of those items you have more problems than just an oil leak to deal with. The oil pressure switch has a black plastic body that is attached to a metal base. This is not the best design out there as it can break easy, I broke one by dropping a wrench on it while changing a belt.

Clean the area really good above and below, then run the engine and see if you can see any oil comming out any where. Fix the part that is leaking.

P.S. your oil pump is driven by the crank, and is located in the timing cover.
