Default 97 camaro rs prothane trans mount

Whats up y'all, i just replaced my trans mount to a new energy mount polyurethane mount. Upon installation i had to drill about half an inch so the stud would feed through the cross member and the stud would accept the bolt. After lowering it down onto the cross member and tightening it down the trans came down about 2 inches before making contact with cross member. Now my shifter hits my panel in 2nd, 4th, and Rev, i can also feel the whole car like shake like something else is loose but the drive and pulls feel ok. Is this normal for this mount to feel all that? Feels rough and aggressive.

Doesn't sound right to me,I have prothane motor and trans mounts, there's a little more vibration than stock but nothing obscene and I have a pretty lumpy agressive cam.

Did you make sure the tapered end of the mount faces toward the rear of the car? You did remember to install the torque plate? You will feel more vibrations, as the urethane doesn't insulate the way the old mount did.

This is going back aways but I think I remember needing a spacer if you wanted to use the Poly trans mount on the V6.

did you compare the new one with the old one to make sure you got the right one and the thickness is the same. if the trans position is changed it changes the driveshaft angle and can cause some pretty bad vibrations. the harder material does transfer vibrations better than the stock ones as has been said. I tried one and switched back to stock type.
