Default 97 camaro girlfriend wrecked:)

Hows it going everyone? I bought a 97 camaro about 6 months ago with 90000 miles mint condition. i made the mistake of letting my girlfriend drive it lol. anyways what happened was she spun around at about 35 and hit the ditch backwards. the main problem is the tire broke straight off the end of the axle.she also snapped the caliper and put a little dent in the back right quarter panel. i really like the car and am thinking it won't be too hard to fix since she hit the ditch backwards? just wanted some opinions. the car is still in good condition and i already ordered a brand new axle shaft, seal and bearing.

check it out very closely for any signs of frame damage. also look at the lower control arms, panhard bar and associated hareware.

And hopefully you'll be more cautious with the next girlfriend!

the bar that looks bent the most is the one that hooks to the right side of the axle and gos towards the front of the car. like a ladder bar? it also looked like the right side of the rear axle was pushed foward a half an inch and the left side was pushed backwards half an inch.

that bar is called a torque arm and helps to keep your driveline straight... id get the car to an alignment shop and theyll be able to tell you how crooked the axle is

Your best bet is to throw it up on jack stands on level ground and do comparative measurements from side to side and diagonal. you mostly want to check the suspension mounts, everything else can be changed. As far as the wheel and the caliper coming off just put a new axle in that side and put the caliper back on.
