Default V6 or v8

I just bought my 93 camero. I am wondering what the easiest way to tell if I have a v6 or a v8, it sure sounds like a v8 but it is not a z28 or whatever. SO can someone tell me the way to tell what it is?

Thanks,
Ace

There are a few ways:
1) If you romp down on the gas pedal and the car starts sliding all over the road, you have a v8. If it wheezes at you, you have the 3.4.
2) The v6 has three spark plugs/wires on each side, the v8 has 4 each side.
3) Google Camaro LT1 engine, then Camaro 3.4 engine, and look at the pictures. There's a noticeable difference between the way each one looks.

two easy ways: check the vin. i think it even tells you in the manual what the engine code is for v6 or v8.

open the hood, and look at the engine.

no offense taken, I owned a Cadillac Deville DHS 2002 and it was totalled the other day SUPER nice car...so with my credit score as it is I was lucky to get a car period financed. This place called g-town financed me for only 500 down. Other places wanted 2-3K down for any vehicle... So I see this car on the lot and it was the best of the 8 they had, its sporty and looks sharp, I am a divorced father with no child living with me so you could say I am going through my mid life. Based on the paperwork I got it says v6 but then it also says manual trans which it doesnt have. There seems to have been lots of mods done to it, so I need to take it to my mechanic and let him tell me what all has been done to it, it will scream when I floor it. And that american muscle growl in the exhaust it my favorite.

The speedometers are different, too. The LT1 (V8) will go to 150 and the 3.4 (V6) goes to I believe 115.

There are a few intro year LT1 cars with V6 style clusters.

Open up the hood and look at the engine bay.

Well I hope you didn't finace too much, Unless the car is very low miles and very clean they only go for about $2000. Many here paid less then that.
