What most people don't realize is GM bailed on its standard engine configuration. Almost every part is designed either V8 or V6. Also there is not room unless there needs to be. The V-8 and V-6 camaros do not have distributors so there is not room for them. The amount of work that needs done to make this convertion a nice everyday driver is insane. A gutter all out race car would be much easier. Getting all the creature comforts working (like heat) would be a huge undertaking because of the way the computer system works.
Is the engine and trans from a 3rd gen? The factory 5 and 6 speeds come turned 15 degs. To the best of my knowledge no other GM car has that.
