96 z28 suggestions?

i recently bought a 96 z28, will be the first 4th gen ive ever owned (2 prior 3-g's).
This engine is rather new to me, it already has mods, not entirely sure on what exactly yet but at first look it appears to have some aftermarket pulleys, K&N air intake, and kinda sounds like a mid range cam..
but as i said before this engine is really new to me, and sadly i dont have anyone in this area that knows alot about camaros, least not that ive been introduced to before.
any suggestions on how to find out if it does in fact have an aftermarket cam on it? besides opening up the engine...
-- and secondly.
im looking for a few easy to do mods, ranging around 100-300$ that would give me a nice increase in power. (already have exhaust)
(the 96 z28 has the LT1 engine correct?)
