A lot easier and cheaper to sell your RS and buy a Z28 and in the end you will have a car that is worth more then you have invested. I have seen some pretty nice LT1's with blown headgaskets sell for $1200. Sell you RS for $700 plus the cost of a head gasket kit you will be into a 300 HP car for about $800 and two week ends of work. Estimated cost of the convertion, about 3K on the cheap and a good 150 hours of work.

Default v8 swap

hi guys first thanks for all the info an no u didnt scare me off i was just letting every1 say what they wanted first then i would chime in lol to the guy that asked bout my motor yes it has been on the dyno an it made 450hp 440 ft lbs its a 355 with ported vortec heads a 536 lift cam all roller comp cam stuff 10.5 1 comp with a holley 750 double pumper its a nice street motor i had built by a guy thats son works for hendricks motorsports an he is a retired pro stock racer the motor screams it will turn 7200 an love it if ur interested in buying it message me back but i just sold the 96 camaro yesterday after hearing how much work it would be i made a quick 100 on the sale so im happy im looking for a 92 dwn camaro now to put my motor in if i dnt just sell it an buy one all done but thanks for all the input guys u were a big help an i didnt get into something that i would regret thanks

Smart move, I am sure you will be happy with a 3rd gen and you would have 1/20th the headaches. I know a guy that picked up a near cherry 91 V6 with a blown motor for $500. They are out there.
