Wow. For $2010, I was able to have the head gasket replaced, the heads checked, the compression tested, and the water pump and Opti replaced.

do all auto 4th gens have a overheat light for the transmission? where is it located?

i had a high temp light come on quite a while back, scanned for codes and came up with trans high temp code. seemed like it was to the right of the speedo. ill have cluster out in the next day or two, ill have a look.

They will replace heat sensor with wires plugs and ancillary parts etc.

It got that hot that it damaged the valves? That sucks, there is no way of knowing if there is any other damage. I hope the rings and block are ok.

Man that is a lot of money. For around $3200 you could of had a remanufactured motor installed.
