Default 95 V6 3.4L - Oil Sending Unit

Last night and today I have been getting a very low oil pressure reading (< 20 PSI, unless going over 50 MPH, then it's still less than 30), and actually 0 PSI when stopped.

I haven't heard any noises or felt any unusual performance to couple with the unusually low reading, so I bought an oil sending unit to replace the one that is currently on there.

I was wondering how often (or what percentage of the time) this is the problem with low oil pressure? I'm going to replace this tomorrow and I'm really hoping it ends up being this and not the oil pump.

Thanks!

For future reference for anyone that is wondering - the oil sending unit being replaced resolved the issues I was having the low oil pressure reading. Now I'm back at a steady 60 psi and 40 when idling.

Could you give me a part number or site for the sending unit? because I can only find the switch. Thanks

The sending unit is just another name for the sending unit switch, it's the same part.

my 3.8 did this, but i still have a question:

i've put two units on in the past 3 weeks, keeps working fine for a week then gives low pressure. what would make these units go bad? if i really had low pressure, then the new units would read low pressure instead of normal before they messed up, right?
