Default 95 camaro dash

Hello,

Hopefully I can explain this correctly..The upper/front dash on my 95 camaro is completely cracked/broken apart. I've tried searching different sites, but I am having a difficult time finding a site which carries this specific part...The closest I could find is this:

http://www.youngsfbody.com/inc/sdetail/5164

Which says it is no longer available?

Does anyone know where else I can purchase this part? Or am I gonna have to go junkyard digging?

Thanks.

Hm...Thanks.

Any idea on why they are so expensive? I think I'll check out my local junkyards first...300$ is a bit steep for that.

you can check but most all bust up when you try to take them out. i think they cost cuzz only one place makes em. you can find new ones on ebay once in a while for less. also the link you posted was for a dash pad cover not a dash pad. the cover fits over your existing dash pad. you can find them for alot less. http://www.bonanza.com/booths/racinf..._Z28_CHEVROLET

You can still get the part from GM. I got one for my 94 a couple of months ago. I looked in junkyards for almost 2 years without finding a single one worth pulling. THe piece is hard plastic that gets totally cooked by the sun through that bigass windshield. Even if, by some miracle, you find an uncracked one in a junkyard car the panel will break into pieces as you try to remove it. I removed a couple of already cracked ones from junkyard cars to get the procedure down and the things basically shatter. Get the p/n, pics, and other info from this thread:

Alright, after checking out my local junkyard, there were 4 camaros there, but only 2 of them had an upper dash, and they were in bad condition.

I guess my other choice would be to buy a cover to put over mine...Anyone know any good dash pads/covers? Any recommendations would be awesome!

Thanks.

Edit: Found this,

Any good?

coverlay makes a cover for these dash panels as well but all the covers ive looked at have just a big gaping hole where the heater/defroster vent is. and they tell you to glue a piece of screen over it from the inside. that dosent sound very "appealing" to me. especially if your still going to see the original venting underneath? has anyone tried to do a fiberglass or carbon fiber wrap of the orig. dash and then paint it to match? I found a NOS GM piece on ebay today for 289.00 but I really hate to spend that much on one. but it sounds like this is not a project you want to start until you have either a new panel or cover in your posession since the old one is basically garbage once you get it out? is that correct?
