You might consider the dash caps that National Parts Depot sells. (not the carpet pieces that look like toupe's) They can be purchased for around $80 and come in all the std. colors. They fit very closely over the original dash pad, and all you need to do is cut off any portion of the original pad that sticks up too high. They're glue on and easy to install.

Val, have you seen those in person? I thought about one a while back but didn't do it since I haven't seen one installed.

Yes! I helped a friend install one on his Camaro. HIs old pad was badly buckled and we had to use a razor knife to trim away the high areas. It took a couple test fits to get it to lay perfect, but then it looked like an original.
His came with double sided tape to attach to the existing dash, and we wondered if it might someday let go? We added some construction adhesive to areas well inside the perimeter, so it wouldn't ooze out when we set it in place, or get on the double sided tape.
His came out great, and after several years it still looks super.

Cool. I bought a stock dash off ebay right when I first purchased mine that had begun to separate. I bought a two part epoxy and set it with a heat gun. Held for about a year and a half and it's buckled a little bit. Really don't want to buy a new one but the tabs for holding in the instrument cluster are gone also. Bleh.
