94 Camaro Gas Tank Location
Now, I know how to access the gas tank, and that's not my problem.
I have my amp and capacitor mounted here. The box sits in the trunk well, and the space shown is behind the backseats.

As far as I know, the gas tank is mounted below this. Now, the Capacitor is screwed into the foam beneath the carpet, but the amp is screwed into or near the metal. Now these aren't very long screws, the are around 1 inch wood screws. Why I am now concerned is my uncle who owns a similar car said that the gas tank is located there and I'm unsure if I may have punctured the tank or not. This was done on Saturday, today being Tuesday, I have yet to smell any fumes or experience anything wrong as of now, where exactly is the tank located, and do you think I may have punctured it?

You think so? I have yet to smell anything. I've taken out the box and lifted up the carpet. The capacitor is definitely only in the foam, and the amp.. i'm not too sure. What should I expect if I hit it?.. and is it right there?
ya its right there and if you hit it youll lose tank pressure (can cause an evap cel) and start getting a strong smell of fuel in the car... now ive hit my tank with a screw and never noticed anything until i pulled the screw out for another system
Well, I just filled the tank up, thinking that if anything would come through, it would be with a full tank so that the gas can hit the top of the tank. I also put a napkin under by each screw hole, thinking that if it was leaking at all I would get residue or odor onto the screws. Now I'm afraid to take out the screws incase of what you just said, but I have yet to smell any fumes, notice leakage around screw point or find any signs of leakage outside of the tank, such as on the ground. I think I may have gotten lucky. I only decided to screw it here as I've seen it done before..
I'll have to try this when there's more light outside. It's a little dark here now. I went on a little drive to see if it built up pressure, I heard a little bit of build up, but I am on a full tank and it was a short ride. I'm going to go for a longer ride tomorrow to let it build up pressure.
