94 camaro 3.4L airbag and brakes
Hey everyone this is my first post.. i have 2 questions regarding my car. First off in about last January this year my car got hit in the front causing the airbags to deploy. i pulled the deployed airbags out and taped up the steering wheel, used a dash cover for the mess .. know this car has bin in my family since it was bought in 94..Grandpa--Father---Mine.I was wondering if i replaced both airbags and the front censor would that be enough, or will i be getting a face full of airbag/failure? i have picture that will follow... Second off my brakes are very spongy i can stop but i feel like im going down to the floor i tested the MC by pumping the brakes turning the car on with pressure and it seems the MC and brake boosters fine.. if i hit the brakes hard while driving at like 30MPH they go the floor never had an ABS or traction control problem n i dont know if there would be air in the system?? Any help would be appreciated thanks everyone!!!

Don't know your location but there's always an early 4th generation Camaro in the U-Pull-It yard near me. You could get the airbags and a module for under $100.
For the brakes I'd definitely do a major bleed first. If that doesn't fix the problem I'd check the rear wheel cylinders for seized pistons.

well, if i was too bleed the brakes dont i need a tech-2 tool ? because of the abs... the rotors where redone awhile back and the drums where never touched ... also im really at a loss for bleeding brakes i have the 2 camaro/firebird books thou... about the airbags if i do replace the parts they wont deploy on me right haha ?

1) you don't need a scan tool to bleed the brakes. i wouldn't let the systme run dry and then refill. i'd have a friend monitor the reservoir and let it get real low, then keep adding as you bleed. these are totally awesome and will same a lot of aggravation.

2)i had chronic low pedal on my Astro and beat my head against a wall trying to find the problem. in the end it was a pair of $10 new wheel cylinders that fixed the problem. each side had one seized piston. just sayin...
3) no, the airbags won't deploy. The crash sensors consist of steel ***** held in place by strong magnets. the decelleration forces of a crash make the ball "heavy" enough that it can escape the magnet and move forward to short some contacts. milliseconds after impact the steel ball is back against he magnet.

I wouldn't let it run dry either. Chances are the fluid is really black right now which means its seen some use. It can't hurt to flush and refill.
But if you're on a budget, just stick with what's finding the problem.
