if you have not done so yet download a factory service manual for 93 here https://www.mediafire.com/?40mfgeoe4ctti its for the firebird but other then a few body parts its the same for Camaro.
Thanks I appreciate it. I’ll get that printed off this evening. Beats Haynes manual!
The Haynes I’ve got is 93-2000. It’s been helpful don’t get me wrong but not everything I wanna know is in it. Hmmm….2,603 pages…may not print that off just yet 🤣
Alright I’m definitely getting flustered but here goes…got the dash tore out and TDM removed. There’s power to the module but nothing coming out. I pinned the security light (one constant hot and one hot with key) and it will come on when pinned (grounded) but that’s the only time it comes on. Could this module be the entire problem? I’ve read in manual that it emits 2.5 volts to the ecm to give it the ok to start (which I have done with a regulator and no change) but also read there should be a signal generator in this as well? (30-50hz). Brain really hurts with this one! I’ve checked every ground I can get to. Traced all wires that I can as well. Did get a look at the oil pressure switch as well and it’s a single wire not 2-3 as I expected for this year since it’s supposed to be tied into the fuel pump relay as I’ve read for the 93. Every flipping sensor seems to be new (doesn’t mean it’s working but is new, replaced before I acquired) all this checking is with meter, power probe and test light.
So, the fuel enable signal is modulated, not a straight up voltage.
It also says you need to have a 5 second ground at key on for the bulb test.
That's the gray wire out the TDM.
Also, the diag chart says this:
That isn't your exact case, as it seems you can crank, but never get fuel. However, since you have no Security light, it would seem module is the problem.
I would test that A5 gray wire for the 5 second ground at key on just as a sanity check. If you don't get that, I might try popping the module open and look for circuit board damage, loose solder, corrosion, etc. It looks like it's relatively easy to open.
I greatly appreciate it! Getting to that damn thing was a complete PITA! I’ve had it apart but not put in under the magnifying light yet. Of course looks can be deceiving but just a quick visual it seems fine. I do believe I’ll try the sanity test there bud! This has def been one of the biggest, if not the worst PITA I’ve ever dealt with!
Also the starter bypass has been done to this thing as well otherwise it would be completely dead in the water.
