700r4 elec controlled?
did 3rd gen v8 camaros have the computer controlled 700's? i picked up a 700 and im unsure what year exactly, but i know its from a late 3rd gen, either from a IROC-z28 or an RS. it has a mechanical vehicle speed sensor. there is also a 4 pin connector on top of the drivers side (when its mounted in the car) valve body. im curious because i might be running this trans with a carbed gen 1 smallblock with no ecu. thanks guys
^+1 on 94 being the first year for the 4L60E. It was a *major* improvement from the 93 to 94 model year.
The big round connector for the solenoids, etc. is located on the RH side and has about 14 pins.

the plug in is for the converter lockup, if nothing is hooked to it your converter will not lock up. you can have it set up to lock by switch or all the time. if i remember right you can also get a trans box for it as well that replaces the trans part of the ecu. there are more than one type of plugin with different numbers of pins. the one i know of is a five pin round one and its used on a 93 only, in the camaro anyways.
