4th gen gears info
just got a 95 camaro and don't know what the gear ratio is. Can I find it at the same place as the third gen cars? On the axle tube front about 3inches towards the pass side. Its too cold to crawl under it now so I don't wanna spend too much time looking for it.
thanks

RE: 4th gen gears info
Not much can be done with what you are telling us, except that it does not sound stock. Remove the cover on the rear end. It is always a good idea to change the rear end fluid. If it is a factory unit the ratio is usually stamped on the end of the ring gear. If not, count the number of teeth on the pinion gear and on the ring gear. Divide the number of teeth on the ring gear by the number of teeth on the pinion gear and you have the ratio.

It should be stock. I looked in the RPO numbers and didn't see any mention of rear-end. The 3rd gens have the rearend code stamped into the tube on the axle about 3inches from the hogshead. I was hoping the 4th gen (which I'm new to) had some type of code somewhere on the car. I was going to get under it this weekend and try to find something.
