Default 4th gen Convertible Water Leak Issue

I know this has probably been discussed but...

My 98 convertible leaks water at the weatherstrip seals during even the lightest rain - get puddles in the back seat floorpans during heavy rain - even when I carefully hand wash the top.

It does have the original weatherstripping, but not sure if changing it will help. I've heard this was a problem from when these cars were new. When it sits outside it has a cover on it to avoid any issues.

Any tips or tricks out there?

Thanks,
George

could be a bad seal, could be window or door is not adjusted right, are you sure its not coming from the back hatch

Get inside the car, and have a helper run water on the outside while you look for where it's getting in.
Old, worn, compressed, or cracked weatherstripping is a likely culprit.

It's the back, top corner of the glass. Driver side more than the passenger side. The weatherstripping does look compressed.

I was curious if any other 4th gen convert owners have replaced weatherstripping? Did it help?

Thanks,
George

have a look here, its for a t top but im thinking if you have that foam rubber backing you will want to look at where the water is coming from closer to make sure its not making its way under the rubber through the foam. https://camaroforums.com/forum/93-02...eak-fix-56642/

First thing is to check if your latches which close the top against the top of the windshield are taught? Use an alan wrench to loosen the set screw then adjust the latches by rotating them to tighten them. If they are too loose, they can cause leaks on the sides.
