Also do I keep the stock s pipe or does the magnaflow come with one? I'm doing this by myself and I don't want to have to cut off the stock s pipe.

you can use the original S pipe, though the magnaflow kit does come with one.

You mean your stock S pipe? You won't have any issue really. On my v6 I used the stock S pipe just fine.

I needed to get a new intermidiate pipe made.

This is a picture of mine and the second picture with the new pipe made.
My stock pipe looks like his. Which is what worries me.

The Intermideate pipe in the Magnaflow system you have indicated is a straight pipe.

Talk to Magnaflow about it. Mention your concerns and go from there. If they say it will fit then you maybe have some comeback it it doesn´t.

The Magnaflow agent I bought my system through in the UK paid for my new pipe to be made.

The O2 sensor is in the S bend welded to the Cat so you don´t have to worry about that.

Unfortunately there are a lot of small difference´s between pre 1998 and post 1998 that aren´t an issue until you come up against them.

Good luck

my wife's 98 was straight after the s-pipe and had a u bolt clamp on it under the tunnel brace. theyre shouldnt be any issues with fitment. if there is, then it wouldn't be a bolt on. magnaflow is a good choice and their kits fit well. when you get it, just mock it up first before tightening anything. make sure there is enough clearance around everything. if needed, you can disconnect the shocks and sway bar and the rear will drop down pretty far. if you want any sound clips of a 3.8 with a magnflow, check out darlingreject's video

btw, i have a cat delete pipe for sale that will fit
