I love the look of T/A's but the LT1 engine is crap, the LS1 is better in everyday and a stock LS1 will put a whooping on a stock LT1 like your racing a 4.6 Mustang. Funny you mention that price lol I'm selling my 2000 SS with 185K on the body, trans and rear end and less then 100k on the engine for $6000 OBO. Nothin better than a LS1

Yeah no kiddin. Imo, the LT1 was the best small block engine Chevy put out, till the LS series came along. It's far from crap, just disliked by the misunderstood. I have one too btw, so dems fightin words where I come from!

Both of the cars you posted about were a few grand overpriced relative to what's available down here in Philly. You pay a premium for special packages like the 35th anniversary stuff and convertibles. Also, a manual will run you another $1,000-$2,000 because they're so rare.

From what I've observed on the Philadelphia CL...
LT1 M6 cars with few issues and less than 100k will start at $5,000
LS1 M6 cars with few issues and less than 100k will start at $7,500

These cars aren't very common around here so you'll have to wait around for a good deal. There are 0 decent listings at the moment. What's your budget?

My budget is $5500-6000, max $6500. There is plenty of listings available, problem is a lot of the times people don't answer you. It seems in NY people think their f-bodies demand a premium price.

Here's a nice M6 convertible, again overpriced. I've seen LS1's for that price.

^^Still waiting for a reply from above craigslist guy

All of those LS1s will be high mileage automatics with hard tops. Manuals are rare and convertibles are even more scarce. That price looks pretty spot on with those ZR1 wheels.
