Pretty much direct swap. Might need y-pipe off the 2001. I don't remember when they changed the exhaust. I believe some other minor things need changed..but nothing major. I'll look around the forums and find the page...

Also, why not take the head off and take it to a shop and have them look it over, first? If you weren't beating on it and didn't drive it for too long after blowing the head gasket, you may get lucky. Cheaper than buying a used engine that may or may not be in good shape.

Went back and looked. Yours should be direct swap and nothing should need changing. Hopefully Gorn comes in and corrects me if I'm wrong. He knows more about the V6 year to year changes.

01 is DBW (Drive by Wire) so you should use your upper intake manifold and throttle body. You want to reseal the lower intake as that is a know issue. Its a little more work to put in a FWD motor (you have to swith everything over) but you can install a Seires 3 motor and you may be able to find a newer lower miles one pretty check. Check out the V6 section under drive line there is a sticky that explains it.
