2002 leaking coolant like a sieve
A friend has a problem with a pretty bad leak at the front of her 2002 L36 engine'd Camaro. It's hard to see exactly where the coolant's coming from, but it looks like it's coming from just under the air intake, in a recess with what looks to be a hard plastic line.
Here's where it looks like it's coming from: https://plus.google.com/photos/11370...CKfa6sDXg5bwHw
I'm not really familiar with this engine, and I've never seen anything like before. Can anybody help me with my ignorance?
The car was running hot prior to the leak, so I wondered if this is what a cracked head looks like for this car. I checked the oil and didn't see any of the milky look I'd expect from a crack, though. Coolant leaks out as you poor it in. Don't even need to run the car.
Thanks for any advice/help on this one.

I am going to put my money on the plastic elbows that go from the WP to the heater hose manifold/belt tensioner. There are 2 of these little buggers and they leak all the time.
As for a crack in the head... prolly not, most cracks in heads leak drops a little at a time not alot at a time.
List: Search for '47065hp' | O'Reilly Auto Parts
The linky above is the parts you need only these are in metal. Use some type of grease on the O-rings to help them seal and to prevent damage durring install. remove the Heater hose manifold/belt tensioner/alternator bracket (it is all one part) and you will see these 2 PITAs. Also make sure there are no pieces left behind in the manifold or water pump as these have a bad habbit of doing just that.

Remember to purge the air out of the system when you refill. There is a little brass valve on the T-stat housing that is just for this purpose. The intake is higher than the top of the radiator so air will get trapped up there and stop the water flow through the engine.
