2 quick questions
first of all I want best bang for the buck.
So ok my 94 Z28 rides too rough and the previous owner lowered it a little too much for my taste. I want best bang for the buck suspension thats as comfy and quite as it gets. what do i get?
second question. I'm getting my rear end fixed. might as well get better ratios. what ratios do I get? also heard of something called spool. what does it exactly do? would it help the rear end last longer?

For gear ratios:
Higher gear ratios make you accelerate faster, but have a lower top speed. It also lowers gas mileage around town.
Lower gear ratios make you accelerate slower, but have a higher top speed. Usually better gas mileage around town.
If your going as a weekend warrior get high ones, if it's a daily driver use a happy medium.
As for spool, the only time I've heard of spool is on a turbo-charged. Get a lower gear ratio for turbo-charged cars.

For the record, a "lower" gear ratio is a higher number, ie: 4.10 = a lower ratio, for more bottom end. Higher or "taller" gears are smaller numerically.
A spool is where there is no "differential" in the center section. Left and right axles are locked together. It's not something for the street because you'll have a very hard time making turns.

So I guess the the best choice for me is a lower ratio, since I want better fuel economy. 330ft.lbs is plenty to work with, I don't think I'll have a problem accelerating. Worst case scenario would be having to turbocharge the hell out of it.
What about the suspension though? I sometimes go on long trips, I want it to be fairly comfortable.

So I think I found the answer to my second question.
I'm looking into air suspensions right now. Sounds like a pretty good idea; first of all, I won't have to worry about rubbing the nose against the road each time I get into a parking lot. Second I'll get to lower the car to show it off to my friends. Third, it'll give me great ride comfort, and fourth, it'll give the firmest ride for track. All thanks for the fact that its height and stiffness are adjustable.
...Or so I'm told by this website: http://www.popularhotrodding.com/tec...all/index.html
I would like to know your opinions before I make plans to save up money for this operation. I know the suspension will cost me an arm and a leg, but that would OK if its as good as they say it is, and doesn't cost another arm and a leg to install. I don't wanna saw my ride, I'm just looking for straight up bold-ins. If anyone knows a cheap supplier that'd be also appreciated.

deffinately eibach pro kit for springs. and for shocks the KYB AGX are probly the best bang for the buck. or if u wanna do some drag racing the QA1 12 way adj. shocks.
and as far as gears go thats totally up to you, especially if you have a 6 spd. but for automatic ide say the 3.55's are a good streetable set.
