An answer, i was in the exact! same boat you are man, was 15 when i got my first car, was lightning quick. Almost killed myself a thousand times. Now ive got my slow old 3.8 and am appreciative almost. And if your dreams a 69 save up work hard and get one. Also just to the forum members, being an avid car enthusiast of all kinds (except electric) I just dont understand why you guys bash imports so much. i know a lot of that scene is rice but us real import owners that wanted to be fast (IE same goal as most muscle car owners) wanted to be safe productive members of society too. So just because some guys act like ricers dont bash the respectable guys. /Rant

I am selling my z.. I'm 16, I'm telling you...it's too much power.. I've been driving since I was 11, on the farm .. In a 1968 el camino with a 3 on the tree.. It is still to much power. I never lost total control or crashed, but, get a v6 3.8 liter is plenty!!!! That's what I'm getting soon... Just my 0.2...

Really? I got my 2002 Z28 when I was 17 and I thought that it didn't have enough power. I was looking for a LS2 GTO before I got my Z28, but they were too expensive back then.

I say get whatever you want and think you can handle. I went with what others said I should get, but now I regret it and am selling it after 3 months of having it. Are you paying for gas, insurance, etc.?

Do your homework for a while to find the car you want at the price you want. I'm 22, been driving for a while, but wish I would of got a Z28 instead of the 3.4l. Get a Z28 so after a few years of driving you dont tell yourself you should of got the next step up. Just be careful. Learn to drive, and get good at it. Then after a couple years of perfecting your driving and getting to know your car, then you can have some real fun. Good luck with your search.

get a 3.8 and make it look nice. put a new grill of and rims maybe hood if you want. you can make them look really nice. but i would stay away from a auto. even though technically only the BEST stick drivers can match the performance of a auto. the stick is so much funner to drive and i think makes you feel like you are going faster. in my 3.8 i get a combined average of abt 22mpg getting around 260-270miles when i fill up. when i beat on it i get 18mpg which still isnt very bad at all. 3.8shave plenty of pep like everyone said. all your friends that havent been in a sports car will be impressed when you drive them around.

that is the grill i have. it was 50 bucks shipped on ebay. like you i live in a state that requires front plates which kinda takes away from the grill but i still think it makes a huge improvement in the look department. if you were wondering i always put a ss hood and rims on my car, to further enhance the looks.
