Default 1996 Camaro rs 3.8

Hello everyone new member here a buddy recommended me to this site . I just want to here some opionions from different people about the best exhaust choice for the 3.8 . I have dual flow masters on at the moment but I want more of a different tone . The car is stock for the most part still has muffler and resonator etc . Just trying to see good idea choices from experienced guys on here . Also I have one question anyone can feel free to answer for me . My car is an automatic but when pressing the gas and when it goes to shift into second gear I have to press the gas a little more to get it to shift into third faster can anyone tell me what that might be . Thank you all for your time and feel free to respond

it’s just when it’s trying to gain speed you have to press the gas a little harder to shift through the second gear . All the other gears go as normal just 2nd gear seems to act “sticky” when trying to accelerate

On average this is caused by a clutch pack seal leaking and causing the line pressure to drop. Shift point in the e type transmission are controlled by a combination of transmission line pressure and the PCM.

You could try changing the fluid and filter a, sometimes this will increase line pressure, it wound not fix the leaking seal but it could make the shift issue much less noticeable.

IMO
Flow master with dual outlets is the best sound at idle system for your 3800. The problem is over 2300 RPM the sound gets very raspy, its worse if you have a high flow or gutted cat. Magnaflow mufflers with dual outlets do not sound as good at idle but the are not as raspy, I had both on my Project 96 and I like the magnaflow better but mine was a stick and I tended to shift at higher RPMs.

Also if you gut the cat and have a flowmaster the car will drone on the highway. I hated that noise.
