Default 1995 chassis lubrication

I have a 1995 3.4 v6 automatic, and the owner's manual says I need to lubricate the chassis, the steering linkage, and the transmission shift linkage every 6,000 miles. The problem is that I don't know where any of the parts are, or how or what to use to lubricate them.

I tried to find the grease fitting for the chassis. According to a picture in my Haynes manual, it looked like it should be right on the inside of the tire but its not there and I didn't see a plug either.

I've read that you can't lubricate the chassis on these cars, only replace it when it wears out, but why would it say to do it in the manual if it can't be done?
