1994 z28, what should i be running?
Why did this deserve a bump? Low 14's stock, a well built auto is faster than a manual because humans can't shift as fast as a machine, and you can get off the line better with an auto, and a 1/4 mile run is usually made in the first 60'. That's about the end of the story...
I would think stock for stock the stick would be faster in the 1/4. you cant launch a auto like you can with a stick, unless you like to do neutral drops, ouch.
Attempting to "launch" our cars usually generates tire smoke. My car broke the tires loose all through 1st gear when I tried to lauch from 2200 RPM with my A4. Stock for stock the times between the A4 and the M6 are about the same. The A4 actually has a more aggressive 1st gear even when you take in the diffence in the final gear (3.23 for auto, 3.42 for manual), and like I said before, the A4 shifts faster than the M6. The benefit off the launch is you can't bog an auto, you hit the gas and go.
you also cant powershift an auto. To really make the auto perform you need to increase the shift firmness
OP ill give you a mid-high 13 if you get a good launch

I agree with Specter's estimate. That car should be running in the 13's unless it's just worn out. My car is very similar and I haven't taken it to the track yet. I need to get on that...
