Default 1993 V6 3.4L Intake Manifold Gasket info

When I removed the intake manifold gaskets to change them, the one on the drivers side had a metal restricter plate. The set I bought to replace them does not have one in the set. I have seen others by a different auto supplier that did have it. Do you think the manufacter forgot to put it in the box? Would it hurt anything to run the car without the restricter plate on the engine?

Thanks,

ill bump it up and say there should be a metal piece in the set that you can install or not. i would make sure you use the same gasket that was removed. for the life of me i cant remember what the heck them are for. i went through it on the netters 350 a few years ago.

Since this is a 4th generation Camaro and it has fuel injection instead of a carb would it still need the restricter plate ? One on one side, one on both sides or none at all?
Thanks

Its called exhaust crossover ports that mate with the intake. Thier designed to heat the intake manifold in which vapors fuel that falls out of mixture. Restrictor plates do just that. Because the gasket is bigger than the actual port, the plates are locked onto the gasket and the little hole you see matches the actual port. Blocking them off will cause your car to take longer to smooth out its idle on a cold start. Even though you have SFI, its still needed for the most part because injectors fire lbs based on the temp of the motor. The colder the motor, the more fuel vs. Air. Too much fuel motor floods.
