thats odd. both sheila and sydney have it up and far back. the only thing right by the kick panel is the cover to the heater core.
I know for sure too because Ive had the dash completely out in both. Replaced the heater core in sheila, and did the dash swap in sydney.

way up and back??? its up towards the front,,, lol, take the kick panel off to get it outa the way, the under dash cover comes out easier. fan is on the other side of the under dash cover. if your a big person it would be pretty tough to get in there. there are some differences between a/c setups and non a/c setup. dont really know what they are. i see they have two sections in the book but man im not interested in researching tonight. have a/c in mine.

Take panel under the glove box loose, then look up you will see a round shape with 3 bolts, that's the blower. I'm 6'6 265, if I can get under there you should have no problems lol

Hmm... Well, I'm not sure why yours are different either, and I'm definitely not saying you're wrong, BUT if the other way is as easy as he is saying it is, then I should be able to check if he's right by just pulling off that panel and looking in there.. How hard is it to get that panel off under the glove box?
