Default Tree sap

My car has some dried tree sap on it, it's been on there since I got it. I am slowly getting it off, but anyone have any suggestions that work really well? I have tried everything made for tree sap on cars and it's just not working good enough. And I was also wondering if the tree sap was taking off the clear coat when I get it off, it kind of looks like it but I could be wrong. I am not scraping it off.

Get a soft towel and dampen it with gasoline. Rub it gently over the sap and the sap will start to dissolve. The gasoline won't hurt the finish but it will strip the wax off. Works really good for pine sap/rosin.

LOL Yeah I haven't tried the gas yet, but someone else told me to clay bar it and that should work so i am planning on trying that soon.
