Default z28 305 easy modifications for hp boost

hey, im only 15 and im still learning about the basic gasoline engine so correct me if im wrong, i gotta 1987 z28 with a 305 v8. Its pretty much stock besides from high performance wires and plugs and high output moduel.
My question for you brainy mechancs out there is, what should i do next to the car for maximum hp. i have 750$ and i wanna spend it all on +ing my hp. ive heard put some headers on it and cat back. and i know what those things are but i also heard put cold air intake on it, and im not really sure what that means so if you can explain it to me and if it gives me more hp then i will probobly buy it and install it.
thanks, please reply.

Is your Camaro carb or fuel injection. I found the cheapest and fastest way on a carb Camaro is to definitely get headers ($100+), then throw a 600cfm Edelbrock ($250) with an adapter plate to adapt to your stock intake manifold. Then cut that catalytic converter off and take it to the scrap yard. Fill in opening with a piece of exaust pipe. It makes it sound a lot better and will increase flow drastically. If you have fuel injection I would just throw some headers on it. They have headers that will bolt right up to your factory exhaust. I like shopping at Summitracing.com.

I've had a lot of good luck with Summit Racing Equipment. That's who I buy everything from. I know a lot of guys like Jegs too. I just bought Summit headers SUM-G9005, which are $90. I've been happy with 'em. But they don't bolt up to your factory exhaust so you'll have to have your exhaust shop redo some stuff. As far as Carter goes, my personal experience has made me like Edelbrock better, but I don't know if it would be worth spending another $250 when you already have a good aftermarket 4 barrel. As for intake manifolds on the Camaro I like the Weiand 8120. It's good to 6000 RPM and doesn't stand as tall as other performancemanifolds so you don't run in to clearance problems under the hood. You still don't have much room for to big of an air cleaner though. That's where a cold air intake would work nice with a big K&N at the end. The Weiand 8120 runs $120.00. It's made for square bore carbs like the Edelbrock 1405 (600cfm), so make sure your carb is a square bore. Other wise you will have to get an adapter.

Don't go cutting off the cat and getting rid of emissions until you know if local and state laws will allow it.
As for the Edelbrock carbs. They are the carters built by Weber USA. And they are junk out of the box.

Get some morso racing mufflers from summit racing. they sound amazing and limit back pressure resulting in more hp to the wheels.
