Does your idle high so it will not die when you put it in gear? If so then you may want a stall converter.
And another thing people should check is their timing. It can cause hot spots. Has any one ever had thier timing so far off it caused their exhaust manifolds to glow?

Yes, it dies when I put it in gear, unless its at operating temp. My converter stalls at like 2500, is that what you mean? just a bigger stall? or what? You lost me

You would no better than any one else because you drive the car. Maybe you could do some research or email the cam manufacture or have a mechanic or performance engine builder test your car out and see what they recomend.

check out my setup on "computer issues on an 84" if u want to know. but i had the same problem but all i had to do was adjust the timing and that fixed right up. check on top of the radiator or on the plastic piece on top of it, there should be a sticker to tell u how what your timing must be and oh to do it.
Thanks,
Pat
