what is the factory transmission size for a 83

Default what is the factory transmission size for a 83

i need to know what size of tranny came factory with a 83 camaro z28 crossfire injection ? and will a 700r4 bolt in with the same cross member placement ?

Your year Z28 came with either a 5 speed manual, or the 700R4.

I'm pretty sure there were some 4 speeds until 84

would a turbo 350 or 400 bolt into it easy or is there some modding to be done?

There's some modding to be done. Moving/customizing the trans crossmember and lengthening the driveshaft are the major changes. Unless you found yourself a long-tail TH350, then you should get away with just having the crossmember to deal with, as far as fitment issues goes.

There is that option, or put a 700R4 in it, which will work like a champ since that was the trans for most 3rd gen camaros anyways. The beauty of it, is that there is already a crossmember to fit it, and most likely a driveshaft too. The 700R4 is just as strong as a th350....plus you get OD
