The LS engine will fit your 95, but getting it to run could be the problem. The ignition system is different, the fuel system is different, the cooling system is different, and the exhaust is different. You could probably use the PCM and wiring harness from 98+ Z28, and tune the PCM to handle the Vette engine. As for the LS9, it is scheduled for 2010, and I doubt that your running gear will be able to handle it. Start filling up your piggy bank, start upgrading your power train, and start reinforcing your chassis.

You can get 400-500 HP from your LT1 without too much drama. You can get a customized heads and custom ground cam from Lloyd Elliot which can produce 410-430HP with the stock displacemant, or add a 383" stroker kit and with the same package get up to 500HP. You will need to add long tube headers, a LT4 intake manifold and a larger throttle body, larger injectors, and get the PCM tuned to handle the mods. You are not gong to make nearly the amount of power you want by just using bolt on stuff.

If you want to go froced induction, and make really big power, you will have to drop the compression, get forged pistons, get forged H beam rods, forged crank, and 4 bolt mains. And then do all the things shown above.

An engine like this will have tremendous torque, so make sure to beef up the chassis & running gear, or it won't move too well.
