alright my friends,

i'm in foreign territory as i drive a mustang but..... before the cursing comes in..... in an effort to boost dale jrs success (or just an excuse to build a summer project car) my brother and i have decided to build an 80s gen camaro. heres the 3 criteria........ we want it to be a sleeper, so no body or paint recommendations. i wanna know whats the biggest ****in engine you can stick in one of those body styles. second, we want a legal exhaust that you can flip a switch and raise hell through straight pipes. thirdly, we wanna run down vipers........... so my friends........ criticize or recommend away

 

If money isn't a question, I'd drop an LS7 in there and supercharge it. But that would be the definition of "sleeper".

 

i wouldnt do the LS7 i would do a LS1 or LS2 because of price, Mod it however, supercharger it, and put it on a 150 shot of nos. For exhaust just get some cut outs.

 

take a 350 and build it. put a stroker kit with 11:1 pistons a very radical cam. get some really nice heads and a few bolt ons. then supercharge it. if you use all the right parts and quality items and a nice 850 doulbe pumper carb. if all of this goes together right and all works with some good expensive parts you could be looking at a 500 hp or more engine. then you can add nos to it and with the supercharger you can look at around 700 or more. i know a guy that has a 600 hp motor with no turbo or supergharger or nitrous. he has a 383 and it has 10 grand or more in it and he used to 740 on nitrous injection. its a lot of work but hey it could be fun

 

just sell the mustang and put the money into the camaro itll be more rewarding in the end

 

not sure how an f-body can be a sleeper?
most people expect them to be fast
if u wwant a real sleeper get an old rusty s10 (i just happen to have one to sell you) then put the camaros 305 in that

drop a 350 of some sort in there, LT1 or LS1 (well, thats a 346) but if money isnt an option you want to forge it, stroke it, cam it, head it, and run a healthy nitrous shot. replace the rear end with something beefy like a 9"
