i took out a sensor to hook up my gauges, but i dont know if i took out the right one or not!

there should be one in the side of the head between the exhaust ports, a single wire sensor that is for the gauge. and there should be one in the intake somewhere , that's the one for the PCM...if memory serves me correct it is a 3 wire .....but it may be two...i can't remember exactly....

yes, when the PCM temp sensor fails they usually read -40 degrees and if that's the case it will run okay when the engine is cold...but get worse and worse as the engine warms up, also after a heat soak it will run really bad (after you have drivin it and got to operating temp. then shut off for a few minutes) , the engine actually gets hotter right after you shut it off becasue the coolant is not flowing and just heats up

my car prefers hot starts to cold starts, but me and him have the same issue.

so i replace it is there also a way to trick the pcm into thinking its running hotter than it really is?
