I need a little help just got a 91 camaro rs with a 305 Tbi and would like to build some thing with more power the stock 305 just don't do it don't know what to do build it or go to a 350 would like some ideas don't know if i sould go to carb or stay with the Tbi would like something cheap for now

 

You need to look at your emission laws. 300 HP and down the 305 will do. The base casting is weak so depending on its condition you might want to think twice about adding any power to engine that is not fresh. Back when these car where new we put a lot of cranks in the 305 under warranty. I doubt they got better with age. The 350's hold up a lot better.

 

thanks gorn i think i would like to put the 350 in but didn't know how hard it would be to do and didn't know if i sould go back to tbi or not if you have any ideas that would help. But for the emission i don't have where I'm from a least not yet

 

do the 350 it open's you up to a lot of performance mod's that the 305 won't handle good luck

if emission's ain't a problem in your area i'd go carb lot easier and many size's to choose from for your setup

 

do you know how hard it would be to put the 350 carb in and take out the 305 tbi and eliminate all the junk wires and what all ill need to do it i know i need to take the fuel pump out of the tank and put it on the block well any ideas it would help and thanks
