Default LT1 Build

Hey guys, haven't posted in a while.

So, my father and I have this 96 z28 'Maro. She's purty.

Anyway, the LT1 has 116k on it and had overheating issues.
We decided that we want the motor to run another 100k miles, so we sent it off to have it bored .030 over and replace alot of the components.

Well, then we decided to order the LT4 Hot Cam kit.

Now, come to find out, the crank is a little worn in one or two spots. Can't remember what my dad said happened. Well we're considering this a good excuse to put in a 400 crank to make a 383. (Is it a 383 if it's been bored over or is it more..?)

Anybody got experience with a stroker LT1 ? Worth it; yay/nay?

Also, about how much TQ/HP do you guys think this would make with a true dual (x-pipe) exhaust setup?

lt4 cam is to small for a stroked motor, not that good a cam for the lt1 either. what are you doing with the heads? i will suggest elliotts, have a look at his site. stroking is worth it but costly to do right.

3.75 crank makes it a 383. make sure you get a solid forged piece or you will have problems down the road. i'd go with all forged internals as well.

as far as the top end, listen to craby

As far as power there is a lot of variables. Depends on the heads, cam, pistons, etc. The list is endless. If you wanted an accurate estimate you would have to compare your build to similar ones.
