timing??
Ohhh so do you have a TPI that uses speed density instead of MAF? The speed density uses the MAP as a replacment to the MAF. My 84 Carbed Camaro used a Map sensor but if it went bad it did not do anythuing drastic.

Yeah my TBI has aMAP also. In fact as far back as I can think all the computer controled cars had a MAP. (computer controled emissions started in 79 here) And it would make sense that a MAP on a TBI would work in the same way as one on a speed density TPI since neither of those have a MAF.
Oh and just a heads up if you still have problems I have seen a bad distributer give a MAP code. A bad dizzy would also give you poor running condition.

ya it was still havin the prob we went back and tried to make sure the timing and all that stuff was set it right and was still havin prob so and we threw a ign modual code so we are gonna go in monday and try puttin in the old dizzy and see if for some reason i got a bad one we will try this and see what happens
