go find a 3rd gen with a 5 speed with no motor or something else that makes it cheap and use it as a parts car. u could find one for aound $500 or so and then sell it as a rollor and get most ur money back

and keep ur car

real easy and cheap. u will need the following--tranny(try to find 1 complete, meaning bellhousing, clutch pressureplate. etc) clutch pedal assembly, slave and master cylender. cut out the hole for the master in the firewall(marked by the carpet) and cut out the tranny square in the tunnel. that easy. need more info pm me.

t5 will not hold up for more than about 10 feet of hard accel.

if your really wanting a stick though, look into a t-56 or the TKO series of trannys. I dont know if the t5 can be built enough to hold on to that kinda power either.

yep, go for the t-56. They are designed for the ls1 motors, and I know plenty of people making close to 500 horse out of the ls1 motors with just a stiffer clutch. The problem is finding one of the bastards... they are expensive! The cheapest I have found is about 1200 on ebay that had about 90k miles on it and a bad 2nd gear. I am looking into putting a t-56 in my camaro when I get the money to make a 383 stroker because many people have told me the same thing about the t-5's, they can't handle much over 300 hp
