In the later half of the eighties most Z28s and IROCs had the 305 (5L) TPI but some did have the TBI.

What is wrong with the Firebird?

The BASE engines for the the IROC & later Z28 were the 305 LG4 (Carb) & LO4 (TBI). The 305 LB9 (TPI) & 350 L98 (TPI) were EXTRA cost options at $698 & $1050.[sm=chairshot.gif] Same goes for the Top line Firebirds.
