Yes, hit it with a hammer till the sides of the head start to curl over, that should put it in it's place.
If you need any help with that, just let me know!

awesome and if you'll notice, and i overlooked that you posted it, you said you got a code 51 using the paperclip which says it's a prom error

so, the paperclip diagnostic showed you the error

I was more concerned with my error but Camaro69 straightened me out :-)

Glad you got it figured out, and fixed!
T.I.G, you owe me a new ball-peen hammer, mine now looks like a mushroom. Man, that nut has a hard head!

Alright well I guess I was wrong. When I took the Computer out and the prom out i noticed one of the prongs on the prom was bent a bit so i pushed it over then i put the computer back in and i noticed the check engine lights turned off, and the car was running better. Sweet right? Well then i reved it up a little and i think it knocked it loose and the lights came back on and it ran poorly. But i wiggled things around and pressed the prom really hard and it turned the lights off again and ran perfect, great idle, no hessitation, it ran like new.

But the next morning i went out it see if it was still going good, but it was too good to be true. It barely started and when it did it idle'd real low and when i reved it up the tach would shoot up and the car would stall, and again is running really really rich.

And now the question i have is what ecms can i use for my camaro becasue im not sure that this is the right computer for my car. The serv no is 1228746 and one other number is 1612750. Can anybody help thank you

Mine is an 89 so any part number i have won't help you. Your year I believe has an electronic speedometer and maybe a couple other differences. honestly, I'd try a search engine be it yahoo or google and see if i got a hit.
