Default please HELP

recently i put an edelbrock intake and holley 4 barrel carb on my stock 305. i also changed4 pushrods due to damage when they were out of the car. i adjusted the rockers and put the new intake and carb on. now i am having problems. the car will start up and idle fine but when i drive it, it has a major loss of power. it dosnt sputter or miss. i adjusted the carb and timed it many times making sure that everything is right. i even checked for vacum leaks and everything is fine. PLEASE HELP</P>

It sounds like a timing problem, check out the cam timing and make sure It's right. Also, look at your distributor and try putting on high perf advance weights and change to a high voltage coil. Take a look at your exhaust...Your setup runs best with headers.

Hope this helps

Losing power like that is most likely a fuel problem since that is what you changed (not saying it couldn't be timing, but timing is too easy to adjust) I would suggest getting an experienced carb tuner to adjust it for you

This may sound silly, but have you checked to see if you are still getting full throttle when you floor the pedal? You changed the carb and the linkage may have to be adjusted or modified.

YES CHECK OUT THE LINKAGE, THAT WOULD BE A BIG PROB IF YOUR NOT GETTING FULL THROTTLE, BUT NOT HARD TO FIX.

hi, also have a 78, quiet a few more mods, on my 350, however i agree you need a good carb tuner, and did u replace the pushrods in a set? I.M.O. always change in sets, headers are a joke on a street car,too many burned starters, plug wires and general waste of time on them. manifolds are fine, good luck
