yes same year camaro unit should fit fine. the 3rd gen body changes a bit so im not sure the early year 3rd gen will interchange with the late 3rd gen.

i have 86 z-28 just bought poi rear with disc brakes not sure year but was out of 3rd gen camaro for 150$ has not the greatest 3,08 to 1 ratio no install issuse i love it
